The service portfolio

One security problem rarely fits inside one job title.

Choose the operating responsibility you actually need. Start with a narrow monthly remit and expand only when the work demands it.

Why companies seek support

The security work that everybody needs—and nobody fully owns.

For many growing companies, the hardest part is not a lack of tools. It's an unclear hand-off between the people who run controls, answer enterprise buyers, review risk and prepare evidence for an audit.

A well-scoped retainer must draw a clear line between the qualified specialist, the technical operators and the senior leaders who approve material risk decisions.

How the work is structured ↗
01The next surveillance audit is approaching.

The risk register, action log and evidence library need more than a last-minute update.

02Enterprise sales keeps asking security questions.

Accurate answers and permitted evidence are scattered between technical and commercial teams.

03There is no clear security owner.

Individual controls may be in place while leadership lacks a coherent view of residual risk.

A working method

No mystery retainer. A visible operating cycle.

The useful output is not the amount of paperwork produced. It is the clarity of responsibilities, current evidence and decisions taken.

01

Define the gap

We map the current owner, standards, audit dates, customer requests and the decisions that have been waiting for attention.

02

Agree a bounded remit

You receive a written responsibilities matrix, capacity allocation, deliverables, exclusions and escalation path.

03

Build the evidence rhythm

We establish the register, review calendar, reporting template and a sensible operating cadence in your environment.

04

Operate, report, improve

Your lead tracks actions and outstanding risks; management reviews them and approves material choices. The programme remains portable.

A better test of credibility

Inspect the governance method before sharing access.

Inspect the operating method before making a buying decision: use our maintenance calendar, evidence-register worksheet and fictional board pack to assess how responsibilities could work in your organisation.

The samples are explicitly illustrative. A contract must separately identify the practitioner, scope, service levels and responsibility boundaries.

Questions / answers

Questions worth asking before outsourcing

Scope, evidence, responsibilities and independent assessment should be clear before an agreement is signed.

Is this a cyber security operations centre?

No. A governance retainer coordinates security policy, risk, evidence and oversight. Threat monitoring, managed detection and response, penetration tests and technical incident response must be separately contracted where needed.

Do you issue ISO 27001 certificates?

No. Certification is awarded by an independent certification body. Advisory and managed ISMS work can help your organisation prepare, maintain records and address findings, but cannot guarantee an audit result.

Do we need to replace our IT or MSP?

Usually not. The proposed arrangement is designed to work alongside an internal IT team, MSP and existing tooling, while establishing who is responsible for which controls and escalations.

Who owns our documents and evidence?

The intended model is that the client owns the information and controls its approved systems. Access, retention, subcontractors, transfer and termination procedures are set out in the service agreement.

Can you start before our next surveillance audit?

That depends on available qualified capacity, the current state of the ISMS and the audit date. An initial review identifies the gaps and whether a realistically scoped engagement is appropriate.

A workable next step

Stop leaving security governance between departments.

Tell us where responsibility is unclear, when the next assurance deadline falls and what your team needs to stop doing manually.
